| The
wall of Brittany is in the heart of the heart of Brittany. It is hard
to do better; especially that it is also located at equal distance from
the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean. |
Wall of Brittany is located on the edge of the Guerlédan Lake. The history of this small borough is very ancient since it would have been populated since the Neolithic era as attested by the megaliths, covered alleys and different other objects. The city was always peaceful throughout its history because of its small size. So calm that its woods were used as hides by the chouans during the revolution troubles. Nowadays, the city draws the essence of its economy from tourism in particular from the leisure activities of the Guerlédan Lake. The Guerlédan Lake is an artificial lake built in 1930 on the bed of Blavet and a valley. The lake could have been created thanks to the dam achieved in 1930. The aim was to provide the railroads of Brittany with electricity. It should be known that this water reserve flooded a whole valley. This is why, when it is emptied every ten years, the lake conveys trees and villages that usually lie under the mud. Lastly, 17 locks were drowned making impracticable the channel from Nantes to Brest. You said civilization? The nautical base diverts the whole family. This lake is a little of blue in an ocean of green. |
