| Dinard is a marvel of “la belle époque”. Nowadays, this city is known for its chic, its class and its British influence. |

port before the English aristocracy falls in love with this small haven
of peace and settles there for the summer holidays. They build there
villas, one of the first tennis clubs and the third golf of France
(1888). It is the Lebanese count Joseph Rochaïd Dadha who in 1873 built
several villas and gives fresh impulse to Dinard which will no more be
the same. The city preserves the architectural testimonies of |

prosperous years which saw ravelling many personalities. Among the
artists we name Paul Signac, Agatha Christie, Oscar Wilde, Jules Verne
and even Picasso which painted there 19 works (“the Bather” for
instance). Among the political personalities, Churchill, Leopold king
of Belgium, Guillaume 2, Edouard 7, Poincaré and even Lawrence of
Arabia which lived there. The agreeable strolls in Dinard are not to
miss. Along the Priory beach, the point of “Moulinet”, the point of “la
malouine” or the unavoidable beach of “l’écluse”. While walking, you
will discover the various architectures of the surrounding villas. For
the amateurs, Dinard has also a casino in the city centre. Lastly, do
not hesitate to visit the park of the Breton port close to the beach of
Prieuré. It is composed of a castle, a pond and a rosery of 2000 plants. |
