l’Abbé is the capital of the bigouden country and constitutes the soul
of la Cornouaille. The bigouden country extends to the South of la
Cornouaille, limited by the Odet, to the east, the Atlantic, to the
west, and a vague line to the North joining the accesses of Quimper. |
Pont l’Abbé - Musée Through its history, this small port lived thanks to both potatoes and fishing activity. Moreover the port was specialized in the tuber export. What is to retain of Pont l’Abbé today, it is the bigoudène culture. A culture which tends unfortunately to fade away. Few women still carry the famous caps today.
