strategic geographical position of Moncontour attracted the
covetousness of many surrounding powers and ensured to the city, to
some extents, certain prosperity. Indeed, the city is perched on a hill
of 60 meters overhanging the axis Saint Malo - Pontivy. During the 14th
century, Moncontour had its own currency in the shelter of its

chouannerie et de la revolution” where scenes of that era are perfectly
