| The
Audierne Bay is a major natural site of Brittany. Its notoriety is
international. The interest of Audierne bay lies as much in the
intrinsic value of the environments as in their numbers, their
variations and their juxtaposition, but also in its situation of
bioclimatic crossroads or migratory stage. |
Subjected to a significant geomorphological dynamics, the site consists of numerous lagoons and low marsh. At the shelter of vast reedbeds or in vast Thermophilous plains with dunes and Helichrysum, more than 300 species of birds nest or make of the area their migratory stage. If in the north of la baie d'Audierne, the great marshy sets are dominant, the vegetation of the dunes fixed in the south is major. Bulb-growing - a dynamic economic activity here - finds a favourable ground |
of expansion; its main consequence is the pressure which effects the natural environments and the quality of water as well. That fact imposes a protective approach towards this site. Particularly vigilant, the Conservatory made of this site one of the major sectors of its interventions. |
| PS : Au
sud des falaises du Cap Sizun et jusqu'à la Pointe de Penmarch, la baie
d'Audierne s'étend suivant un arc tendu sur une dizaine de kilomètres. |
